Stage 5 · 20 minutes

Brain hack three: repetition

Turning your vision into your brain’s new default, the way habits actually form.

The power of repetition

Repeating something reinforces it, like a path forming through a forest when the same route is walked repeatedly, or learning to ride a bike. Repetition consolidates information, moves it from short-term to long-term memory, and speeds up access (think muscle memory and myelination).

Over time, repeated behaviours become automatic, freeing cognitive resources for complex thinking. Repetition also creates a “priming effect”: the brain becomes more sensitive to similar stimuli, accelerating future learning, and activates the dopamine system, creating a positive feedback loop.

Stack it with emotion and visualisation

The full stack
  • Visualise your actions
  • Visualise the successful outcomes you want
  • Imagine and feel the emotions during those actions and successes

You can mentally rehearse anywhere, at any time. If you’ve repeated the exercise daily, you’ve already visualised your dream life 10 times. Let’s keep going.

Imagine your Next Version of Me: Exercise 2.0

Imagine 5 min

Make it familiar

Reread everything about what you want to BE, DO, HAVE and spend your MONEY, TIME and ENERGY on. Imagine for 5 minutes living all of it: vivid, detailed, multi-sensory, emotional. Play it like a movie trailer.

Repeat at least once more today.

Well done! See you tomorrow.
