Breaking free from your current life
Create a vision for your future life, and begin teaching your brain to work towards it instead of against it.
Download your workbook
Every exercise, score and question in this course has a space in one workbook. Type into it on your computer and save it, or print it and use a pen.
You only need it once. It’s the same workbook for every stage, so keep it somewhere safe. If you lose it, there’s a download link at the top of every stage.
Download the workbook (PDF)Read page 2 first. Then you’ll start on page 4, with your first score.
What if the life you want isn’t as far away as it feels?
What if the biggest things holding you back…self-doubt, fear, guilt, procrastination, lack of motivation, laziness…aren’t actually permanent?
Right now there’s a gap between the life you’re living and the life you could have. Most of us were never taught how our brain actually works, how to use it, or how to break free from the invisible chains of past experiences, limiting beliefs and outdated habits.
You can learn all of that. Over the next seven stages you’ll discover what truly drives you, create a vivid vision of your future life, and take the first real steps towards it.
Let’s go.
Why there’s so much writing
This course asks you to write, score, reread and update a lot. That’s on purpose. Change happens through repetition. Every time you go back over your vision, the pathways that hold it in your brain get stronger, and it starts to feel familiar instead of far away. Familiar feels safe to your animal brain, and safe is what it follows.
- Writing is repetition. Putting it in your own words makes your brain work harder on it, so it sticks.
- Visualising is repetition. When you imagine something vividly, your brain uses many of the same areas it uses when you really do it.
- Rereading is repetition. Coming back to it over several days works better than doing it all at once.
- Scoring shows you the change. People who track their progress are more likely to reach their goals.
The minimum: do every stage’s exercise, write your first answers, reread them before each guided exercise, and fill in your score tracker. That’s enough to see the change.
If you feel stuck (a score that won’t move, a part you can’t picture, a vision that feels flat), use the three vision trackers at the back of your workbook. They give your brain the extra repetition it needs.
Bored after the first go? Use the fast track on each stage: if your score is 7 or more and higher than last time, one go that day is enough. If it’s under 7 or not moving, the extra goes are what move it.
Score your current life
Give your Current Life a score out of 10 and write it down.
Write it on page 4 of your workbook as “Current Me <score>”, and copy it to your score tracker on page 27.
e.g. Current Me 7
This score matters. At Stage 7 you’ll score again, and you’ll want to see how far you’ve come.
